プラネタリウム
この前の週末、オカダは久しぶりに遠出した。向かったのは、新居浜市にある愛媛県総合科学博物館。ここには、世界最大級、直径30mのドームスクリーンを持つプラネタリウムがあるというので、以前から一度見てみたいと思っていたのだ。
その日上映していたのは、『ハローキティ みんなあつまれ星空パラダイス』と『ダイナソーDX パタゴニア・巨大恐竜の謎』の２種類だったので、『ダイナソー』の方を見ることにして、それまで展示を見て回った。
４階の自然館で、動く恐竜の模型を見たり、金の鉱石を見たり。３階の科学技術館・産業館で、坊っちゃん列車を見たり。天然文系のオカダでも、見てわくわくするような展示が沢山あった。子どものときに見ていたら、もしかして進路が変わったかも。
やがて時間が来たので、プラネタリウムへ。プログラムの前半は、今の時期に見ることができる星空の映写と係員による解説。夏の大三角、ベガ、アルタイル、デネブやその星座、こと座、わし座、はくちょう座などを教えてもらった。そういえば、ベガとアルタイルは、「織姫」と「彦星」だったんだなあ。そのことを知ったのは随分遠い昔のことで、最近は思い出すこともなかったなあ。
そして後半は『ダイナソーDX パタゴニア・巨大恐竜の謎』。直径30mのドームスクリーンいっぱいに映像が投射されると、視野からはみ出る程の大画面で、どこに焦点を合わせたらいいかわからないくらいに映像が広がり、ものすごい迫力だった。飛竜がこちらに向かって飛んで来るシーンなども、非常に立体的に感じられた。
ただし、画面が大きい分、鮮明さはもうひとつで、最近のハイビジョン映像を見慣れている分にはやや物足りなかったけど、それを補って余りある大画面の迫力だった。
近々『HAYABUSA -BACK TO THE EARTH- 帰還バージョン』や『銀河鉄道の夜』といった、より魅力的なプログラムも上映されるようなので、ちょっと遠いけど、また見に来たいなあ。

立派な科学博物館ですね～
建物がステキだと思ったら、設計は黒川紀章さんなのですね。
最近のプラネタリウムは、ホントにスゴイ迫力でびっくりしちゃいます。
天然文系・・・ですか(^o^)
私は、一番好きな科目が理科でした。
博物館、科学館大好きなので、ここももう少し近かったらな・・・と思っています。。

ほんと、立派な箱モノです。このおかげで？、県の財政が逼迫したそうです。
山の中腹にあって、ロケーションはすごくいいのですが、街中から離れているので、車がないとアクセスはよくないです。
プラネタリウム、結構人気があるんですね。それでどんどん大きいものが作られるんでしょうか。ちなみに世界最大のは名古屋市科学館のもので、内径３５メートルだそうです。

そうでしたか。意外ですね。
僕は学生時代、全く理科に興味が持てませんでした。今だったら、電気の授業とかは真剣に聴くでしょうけどね。

うつくしい建物ですねえ。
プラネタリウムの宿命なのか、山の中に作られることが多いみたいですね。
ひとの国のことは言えない当県です。
わたしなら『ハローキティ…』を観たかも（爆
生活って科学そのものなのに、学校では切り離して教えられていますよね。
ゆとり教育が叫ばれてたときには「生活科」が小学1～2年生にあったけれど、いまどうなったのかしらん。
楽しさを教えるのも学校の役割だと思いますけどねえ。
もちろん、親もね。

ほんと、ハイセンスな建物でした。ちょっと凝りすぎかと思うくらい。
プラネタリウム、そこそこ広い敷地が要るし、静かな場所の方がいいからなのかもしれません。

確かにそうですよね。そういう視点、掃除とか食べ物なんかと結びつけて考えることができたら、僕ももっと興味が持てたでしょうに。
